Ahh…you know those conversations you leave and just feel rejuvenated? That was how Emily and I felt after this week’s episode with Teri and ShDonna. These two friends met as adult women in 2012 at a women’s group in church. After feeling that “gut feeling” Emily and I always talk about, they took a chance on friendship and…well, the rest is herstory.

Whether they’re helping each other through difficult seasons of life, through their marriages, their role as mothers, or bolstering their faith, ShDonna and Teri made their value of authentic and intentional connection clear to us. Teri wondered out loud, “Why don’t we smile more at strangers? Why don’t we value putting positivity out into this world?” and that started the origination of #valueculture.

Witnessing two adult women who “like” each others’ faces, who can’t wait to carry out their intention of having a family vacation in 2024, and who let faith serve as the foundation of all that they do…these two women showed us a beautiful friendship–certainly one that I admire. 

I’m still laughing about Teri’s husband’s pick-up line for her…rejuvenated with hope for women everywhere that they may find their dear friends also. Thank you Teri and ShDonna for welcoming us at your table this week.
