Sarah and Caroline: Up Close

Hello, friends!

We had so much fun getting to learn all about Sarah & Caroline’s friendship in Episode Seven of the Hello Again Friend Podcast.

They snuggled close together for the entire podcast–how incredibly sweet is that?! And while Emily and I could go on and on about the oatmeal cookie escapade that started it all (I mean, come on–cookies start SO MANY AMAZING THINGS!) to the times they had to be apart due to school and college…to their parents being friends and their hopes for each other moving forward…we thought it best to have them answer some questions so you could hear it here from there.

Here’s what our new friends had to say…

Q: What do you wish was different about your relationship?

S: I think I would like to have more grand adventures with her. All of our little and big moments mean so much to me and have shaped our friendship into what it is today, but I feel like we don't have many grand adventures. Some of the grand adventures that I would like to have with her include a big traveling trip, running into the ocean in a prom dress,  going to a book signing, watching Pride and Prejudice (2005) at a location where it was filmed, and living our Mamma Mia fantasy in Greece.

Some grand adventures we've already done together are going to a disco, doing this podcast, and simply growing older together. I can't wait for the grand adventures we will have in the future that may involve marriage or kids, both of us in our dream jobs, and the first time that we feel like we have the life we dreamed about when we were little kids.

C: I don't wish much was different. Our friendship is beautiful the way it is. I do wish for us to travel together in the future when we are both more financially stable

Q: What is your favorite book?

S: My favorite book is called Daisy in Chains, and it is a thriller. But my favorite genre is fantasy, and we share those books with each other.

C: My favorite book is probably Verity by Colleen Hoover. I love mystery books and fantasy as well.

Q: What is one fun memory you have together?

S: A fun memory I have of Caroline and me was when I took her to the barn where I rode horses. She watched me ride, and then she wanted to get closer to the horse when I finished. She was so excited, yet so nervous to be around the horse. She was timid with her touches, but I could tell that she loved it. I remember laughing with her about that then, and we sometimes still talk about it.

C: The one memory that comes to mind when I think of Sarah is the discos that we go to together. All night long we listen to ABBA and dance.  It is probably the most fun I've had!

Q: If you could go back and redo one part of your friendship, what would it be and why?

S: This is a hard question to answer. I feel like if we changed or redid anything, our friendship would be different, and I wouldn't want that. I think the truest answer I could give would be that I wish we had been a bit closer in high school since those were really formative years for us. If the question was about re-living certain experiences during our friendship, that is also a difficult question, but I could list hundreds of times that would be great to experience with Caroline again.

C: I would go back and become closer in the years we were not as close. While I know she is/was always will be there for me I wish we were closer in highschool and the years she was living in Atlanta.

And there you have it. Another beautiful friendship that Emily and I had the honor to witness. Ya’ll…you could FEEL their adoration for each other through the computer screen. And to think…it all started with the wrong cookie…
